Tuition & Expenses
Hospitals have traditionally treated adolescents. These treatment stays are short (3-7 days), very costly to both the insurance company and the adolescent’s parents, and provide questionable long-term success. Enormous amounts of money are expended using this approach, and adolescents often return for additional treatment.
At the opposite end of the spectrum are long-term residential institutions in which costs can easily reach $100,000 per year.
Silverado Academy is the alternative. Silverado is a therapeutic boarding school, with an average stay of 9 to 12 months. The academy provides quality care, high level academics, and unmatched recreational opportunities at a reasonable price. At Silverado we recognize the stress families are under and provide an alternative to hospital and residential care extremes. The monthly tuition covers room & board, therapy, and academics. There is a one-time enrollment fee that covers the costs of the initial psychiatric evaluation, staffing for parent workshops, and student uniforms. A student account is required upon admission which covers the costs of outings, leisure time activites, amenities, medical transportation, and student allowances.
Please note that all pharmacy, labs, medical, dental, and airport transportation expenses are the responsibility of the parents.
First month & aftercare tuition are due upon admission, along with the enrollment fee, and student account. If a student enrolls before the 15th of the month, the first month's tuition is pro-rated to reflect that admission date. If enrollment occurs after the 15th, Silverado requires a pro-rated payment for the remaining days of the month, in addition to the first and after-care tuition.
All options require payment by wire transfer, personal or cashier's check. Payments made with credit cards will incur an additional 3% processing charge. If you have any questions, please contact: Denise Westman 435-633-7000 or email at
